High-risk pregnancy

INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATION

HIGH-RISK PREGNANCY

A high-risk pregnancy can raise many questions - which makes it all the more important to receive trustworthy and professional care. In my practice in Vienna, I offer you individual and comprehensive support at the highest medical level.

With my many years of experience and specialization in high-risk pregnancies, I am at your side with empathy and expertise to accompany you safely and sensitively through this special time.

fertility and pregnancy

A high-risk pregnancy means that there are certain anamnestic risk factors in the medical history of the mother-to-be, which considerably increase the possibility of complications during the pregnancy.

Possible risk constellations are for example gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, as well as pregnancies with diabetes or high blood pressure (as a preliminary disease), diseases of kidney, liver, heart and thyroid, autoimmune diseases, coagulation disorders, hepatitis, HIV and other infection diseases, obesity, etc.

Also older mothers-to-be, repeated miscarriages, multiple pregnancies and complications during a previous birth can increase the risk of complications during the pregnancy.

For the pregnant woman, a high-risk pregnancy especially means that a close medical monitoring is necessary during the pregnancy.

However, the determination of a high-risk pregnancy does not automatically mean that there are definitely going to be complications during the pregnancy.

Thanks to the exact knowledge about potential risk factors and by proactive, careful planning and exact medication, also women suffering from a certain underlying disease can give birth to a healthy baby.

Those who consequently follow important recommendations can even enjoy a lovely and carefree pregnancy-despite the increased risk.

Individual treatment plan

The exact monitoring of a high-risk pregnancy and determining which additional examinations are necessary, depends on the existing underlying disease and other individual questions.

As your treating doctor it is very important to me to always be one step ahead-thereby complications can either be avoided in the first place or diagnosed and treated early, so they do not affect the wellbeing of mother and child.

From July 1st 2023, medicines covered by public insurance in Austria can be sent via e-prescription (independent of ELGA).

All persons insured in Austria can pick up their medication with a health insurance e-prescription at any Austrian pharmacy - but not at web/online pharmacies! Private prescriptions cannot be sent - they have to be collected at the practice.

Seit 1. Juli muss die e-card 1x pro Quartal in der Ordination gesteckt werden, damit das eRezept für 90 Tage zur Benutzung freigeschaltet ist.

Lab tests - procedure

After we received and checked the results we proceed as follows:

1. In case of an urgent result that is subject to treatment we contact you actively and communicate the necessary steps (therapy, appointment, prescription, ...).

2. If you have not heard of us within 2 weeks, you can be assured that your results do not require any further medical clarification or treatment. In this case, even if the result deviates from the reference range, we offer you to ask within your next regular appointment.

Currently we are not able to answer your e-mails regarding that matter due to high influx of e-mails. We kindly ask you for your understanding. THANK YOU.
